Adelle's First Talk

Adelle gave her first talk this last Sunday in primary. She did great!! I feel bad for her though ever since she knew she was giving a talk she didn't like the idea at all. I didn't think she would know what a talk is because she appears to never to be listening in closing exercises. What do I know though. Anyways, Rob and I thought that she might not even go up there and cry. She sat up on the stand next to Rob and looked content enough. When her turn came she went up with Rob and said, not whispered, the words. I couldn't see her because the stand blocked her head. She was terrified and almost started crying the whole talk. Her voice quivered, and the words were jumbled and you could only understand a few words, but I am so proud of her. Rob said that he asked Adelle after they sat back down if that was scary and she said, YEAH. She was so excited and happy with herself when it was over. I nearly cried, as I always do when she does things that indicate she is getting bigger. *sigh*

Adelle’s First Talk March 28, 2010

Hello, my name is Adelle. We can hear what God wants us to know and do by listening to our prophet.

Abinadi was a prophet we learn about from the Book of Mormon. God wanted a group of people to stop being wicked. God sent Abinadi to tell them what He wanted them to learn. Abinadi taught about Jesus Christ and how we should live.

In the Bible Moses was a prophet who helped the children of Israel escape from being slaves. Moses also taught them about God and the commandments of God.

I am excited to hear the words of God from our prophet Thomas S. Monson next week. He will tell me what I can do to be like Jesus. I am thankful for our prophets who love us.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
